Immigration Reform Details Set to Be Revealed April 16th

The so-called, “Committee of 8” will reveal details of their proposed immigration reform bill on Tuesday April 16th. The new bill is thought to deal with the nearly 11 million undocumented immigrants now living in the United States along with increasing the number of business visas and investment visas available to potential immigrants wishing to work and live in the United States legally.

One of the 8 senators is Republican Senator from Florida, Marco Rubio, the son of immigrants from Cuba. Mr. Rubio is taking a calculated risk in supporting Comprehensive Immigration Reform because Republicans and their supporters (voters) typically do not support immigration reform. The elections of 2012, however, showed Republicans that they must change their platform with regard to minorities and immigration or they are doomed to repeat the defeats of 2012. The trick for Mr. Rubio, is to gain new supporters while minimizing any negative impact on his current supporters.

This is a very exciting time for immigrants both in and out of the United States. Our offices in New York, Miami, Orlando, and Naples are geared up and ready to handle any and all immigration cases including under the new legislation when it becomes law.
