Safie da Costa Soarès is a passionate advocate who understands the often difficult experience of navigating the American immigration system. A native of France who grew up in Benin, Safie immigrated to the United States by herself in her early twenties. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in legal studies in New York, she attended Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. as an evening student. During the day, she worked as a legal assistant where she had the opportunity to assist on asylum matters for pro bono clients from South America. That experience strenghtened her desire to practice immigration law.
After obtaining her law degree, Safie started her legal career at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia where she practiced civil litigation, and then clerked for an Associate Judge at the District of Columbia Superior Court. At the conclusion of her clerkship, Safie moved to Miami to dedicate her skills and drive to a market she knew would be in need of a zealous immigration lawyer. Safie’s native language is French and she also speaks fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese.
