Recent polls show that conservative opposition to comprehensive immigration reform is not what most think. The tide may be turning toward a realistic possibility that immigration reform will be passed in some form once the House devises their own version of an immigration bill and negotiates with the Senate on a final bipartisan version.
Republicans were quick to condemn the statements made by Rep. Steve King regarding immigrants and are eager to show the American people that they support immigrants and minorities. They know that if they do not, their party will not fare well in the next elections.
