Withholding Of Removal

Our client, from El Salvador, applied for withholding of removal due to his sexual orientation as a gay male. He testified in Miami Immigration Court regarding the abuse he suffered in his home country amounting to past persecution. He also was able to demonstrate that he possessed a well-founded fear of future persecution in his native country on account of his sexual orientation. After two hours of testimony, much of which was emotionally charged, the Immigration Judge granted our client’s application for relief from removal and the government, office of chief counsel, attorney waived appeal.
